FIRST EDITION OF THE AUTHOR'S FIRST (AND ONLY) BOOK. The success of the novel led to the film adaptation, written by Horton Foote, which was released in 1962. Produced by Alan J. Pakula, the film was directed by Robert Mulligan and starred Gregory Peck in the memorable role of Atticus Finch. The film won three Academy Awards, including Peck for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
