The gilt metal filigree and emerald green Egyptian scarab design of this cuff bracelet is almost identical to the headdress and cuff bracelet designed by Travis Banton for Claudette Colbert as Cleopatra (see lots 11 and 12). Cecil B. DeMille and his team often recycled costume pieces from previous productions, so it is likely that this cuff was made for Cleopatra, 1934, and then recycled years later for Samson And Delilah in 1949.
