Lot Essay

John Bonham’s Ludwig Amber Vistalite drum kit is one of his most recognisable kits, along with his green sparkle kit. Bonham used his Amber Vistalite kit on tour with Led Zeppelin between 1973 and 1975 although he preferred to use a Ludwig Chrome Supraphonic 402 snare on stage. John Bonham gave this snare drum to Skip Alan, drummer with The Pretty Things in 1975. Skip and Bonham became good friends when The Pretty Things were signed to Led Zeppelin’s record label, Swan Song.
