A GILT-BRONZE PAGODA-FORM 'SHRINE'
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The 'shrine' is modeled as an eight-sided pagoda. The two-tiered sloping roof is adorned with phoenixes and leafy scroll terminals and raised on eight slender columns, with panels of scrolling acanthus leaves set in between. The front is similarly decorated with scrolling acanthus borders and the reverse with four festooned columns and further elaborate scrolls. Together with a gilt-bronze figure of a bodhisattva, 18th century.
