This is a commentary on a work by Al-Tughra’i supposedly composed in 1111 AD. Salah al-Din Khalil bin Aybak al-Safadi is mentioned in Al-A’lam, vol.2, p.315, as having composed more than 100 works. The present work is recorded in Al-A’lam as being in two volumes, and is also recorded in The Bulletin of the New York Public Library, Vol.12, p.29, under works relating to Arabic poetry. The presence of astronomical diagrams in this work is worth noticing. The author was born in Safed in 1296 AD and died in Damascus in 1363 AD.
