Lot Essay

The inscription in the field reads, farmayesh-e 'ali (?) qaraja-daghi , which translates as 'Order of 'Ali (?) Qaraja-Daghi'. Qaraja-Dagh is a place in Azerbaijan and probably indicates that the person who commissioned this carpet was from there.
