Each part with separate title-page, woodcut illustration of Ptolemy on *2, repeated on *4v, 65 engraved double-page maps (of which 27 are of the ancient world and 38 of the modern world), woodcut illustrations and initials, with the 3 blanks H4, ?4, and H6. (Lower corner of B2, E2 and G2 in pt. I repaired, printing flaw affecting one or two words on Hh1r, top of inner gutter of Vv4v and Xx1r repaired, small hole in plate mark of the map of Poland and Hungary, stitching loose, affecting a few maps, some browning, spotting and light soiling.) Old half vellum (lower joint split but cords firmly holding, worn). Provenance: George Collingridge, 1867 (signature on endpaper, possibly George Collingridge, artist, engraver, cartographer, and writer (1847-1931) – Alexander Eric von Nordeck, Toowoomba, Queensland 1910 (inscription on endpaper). Explanatory note on both provenances loosely inserted. Third edition of Ruscelli’s translation of Ptolemy, the first revised and corrected by Giovanni Malombra. The maps and text are the same as those in the preceding two editions, and the Latin edition of 1562 but one new map has been added, 'Territorio di Roma' (no. 13). The table (A-H4) has been misbound before the text of part I and the title and text of part II (a-?4) have been misbound after the maps (according to Adams’ collation).
