CHINE, DYNASTIE QING, EPOQUE JIAQING (1796-1820)
Each elephant is modelled standing foursquare, with its head turned to the side, supporting a two-handled vase which is resting on the saddle. The saddle cloth on one elephant is decorated to either side with three bats surrounding a stylised shou character. The other saddle cloth is decorated with a bat suspending a chime.
