Lot Essay

According to Clapton's guitar tech Lee Dickson, VW sponsored the 1998 Tour, and this guitar is one of a few Fender Strats. which were customised with the logos/artwork that were used in all the posters etc., for the tour. Every night the sponsors had a backstage party, for the staff of VW, in various towns and one of these customised Fenders would be present with a little amp... Nathan or someone would always be noodling on one of these. At the end of the tour, this previously unused one, was presented to Eric.
