A German porcelain pear-shaped ewer and domed cover made for the Turkish market
painted with two vignettes of birds among branches among insects and scattered sprigs within gilt dentil rims, the cover with similar decoration, the flared neck with a swollen collar below a leaf-moulded support for the scrolling spout, applied with a strap handle, blue crossed swords mark -- 11½in. (29.2cm.) high, late 19th century (slight wear to gilt)
