A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE OPENWORK CARVING
18TH-19TH CENTURY
One side is carved with the Eight Daoist Immortals, each holding his attribute, with Han Xiangzi playing his flute as he sits on a crane in flight above the other seven. The scene is framed by pine trees carved in openwork, as are the fruit-laden peach trees on the reverse which is further carved with a deer standing beside two wine jars with cloth covers, all above froth-capped waves that rise from the base.
