A CARNELIAN AGATE FIGURE OF A MYTHICAL BEAST
18TH CENTURY
The beast is well carved in a seated position with head turned sharply to the side, its mouth open, and the tail swept up onto the back. A small horn is between the ears, and the neck is encircled by a collar hung with a bell.
