The painting is dedicated to Zhao Juyu (1913-1981), a native of Hunan. After the Sino-Japanese War, he took up official positions and acted as branch manager for the Central Trust of China. He later moved to Taiwan after 1949 assisting in logistics and then took up a post at the Executive Yuan before retiring.
