Each vase is decorated to the exterior of the body with a continuous scene of figures beside pavilions and pine, within a mountainous riverscape. The necks are enamelled with four writhing dragons contesting a flaming pearl, emerging from a background of scrolling clouds and are applied with two archaistic dragon-form handles. The interiors are enamelled turquoise; handles and neck of one vase restored.
