The boat-shaped central vessel with foliate decorated lid and shaped candle branches with cylindrical nozzles and foliate decorated 'bobèches' and corresponding light branches, above a cartouche-shaped support engraved with the arms of the Marquis de la Londe, some elements stamped with the 'C' couronné poinçon

Le Cordier de Bigars (1705-1785)
Jean-Baptiste-Francois Cordier de Bigars, Marquis de La Londe, Baron de Bourtheroulde, was president of Parlement of Normandy from 1731 to 1751.
The present lot was probably bought circa 1745 for his chateau of La Londe-les-Elbeuf

Baron Franck Seilliere
By 1890 the famous banker Marie-Francois-Alexandre Seiliere, called Franck Seiliere, commissioned the Odiot company to make a matching copy of the present lot. He was the son of the great collector Achille Seiliere from whom he certainly have inherited the present lot
