Lot Essay

Superbe paire d’ornements d’oreilles constituée de deux visages finement sculptés, dont le revers comporte une fixation en forme de crochet, sur lesquels sont attachés de longues pendeloques de perles de traite et de cuir. Voir Nelson (E. W., The Eskimo about Bering Strait, 1899, pl.XXIV, fig.10) pour un ornement d’oreille comparable, ayant perdu ses pendeloques, collecté à Nulukhtulogumut (village aujourd’hui disparu) par l’auteur en 1880.
