2° (302 x 205mm). Woodcut device on title, historiated and decorative initials, italic and roman types. (Occasional spotting and light soiling.) 19th-century tan morocco, gilt borders on covers, gilt spine and edges (extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance: Prince of Liechtenstein (booklabel).
FIRST EDITION in Latin of what is considered to be the earliest known text on cookery (see lot 76 for the editio princeps in Greek). It also contains miscellaneous information on music, songs, dances, games, and courtesans.
