Lot Essay

Sebastian Boyle describes the origin of the white pigments in the lower left corner of the present work and comments about the site that inspired this work: 'the site was outside a car bodywork garage where they sprayed car repairs to the right colours, so there was traces of spray paint on the cobbles' (private correspondence, 2015).

We are very grateful to Sebastian Boyle for his assistance in preparing this catalogue entry.
