The sides of the box are decorated with lotus scroll, and the hinged cover is decorated on the sides with a ruyi band and on top with lotus scroll that surrounds the shaped opening inset with a dark green jade plaque carved in openwork with scrolls and lotus. The base is decorated with a turquoise ground inlaid with gilt-wire clouds. The interior is lined in wood.
