Anna Mary Robertson 'Grandma' Moses (1860-1961)
Property from the Collection of Ann RutherfordThe following works by Grandma Moses were in the personal collection of film star Ann Rutherford. Her role in Gone With the Wind saw her favorite novel come to life. Her career spanned forty years, encompassing roles in movies and television, but it was her role as Carreen O'Hara, Scarlett’s sister, which was the most sentimental. Ann also portrayed Mickey Rooney's girlfriend in the Andy Hardy films. The Grandma Moses paintings were previously in the collection of famed American film producer and MGM studios co-founder, Louis B. Mayer, and were likely gifts to the actress.
