A CARVED IVORY 'FINGER CITRON' TRAY
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The washer is naturalistically modelled in the shape of a finger citron, with the interior intricately carved with two bats, insects, an auspicious animal-form pendant and leafy branches bearing flowers. Another bat is depicted to one side. The base is supported on three later added leaf-form feet.
