MOLL, Herman (c.1654-1732). Atlas Minor: or, a Set of Sixty-two New and Correct Maps. London: H. Moll, 1729 [but 1732 or after].
4° (229 x 183mm). Letterpress title and 62 engraved double-page maps coloured in outline, EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with one additional uncoloured single-page map 'The Abissine Empire, as it now is; and the true source of the Nile', all mounted on guards, 10 folding. (Map of the Bay of Fundy trimmed at head just touching image, tiny worming to lower margin, occasional faint soiling.) 20th-century half leather (extremities rubbed). Provenance: Astle Library (purchased by the Royal Institution in 1802).
This atlas mostly conforms to the first edition of 1729, but has a letterpress title rather than an engraved title, and the map of Persia is a later issue with the date of 1732. 18 maps relate to the Americas. Shirley BL T.MOLL-9b.
