A YING SCHOLAR'S ROCK
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The upright stone is well composed in the form of a jagged mountain range, rising to two lofty mountain peaks separated by a deep furrow. The dramatic crevices and sharp ridges accentuate the beautifully textured surface with characteristic small hollows. The fine grained stone is of a blackish-grey tone with white calcitic veining.
13 1/2 in. (34 cm.) high, wood stand
