CHURCHILL MAKES DENIS JOHN ARTHUR RICHARDSON KUHLMANN A NATURALIZED BRITISH CITIZEN. Kuhlmann, currently a student at Cambridge, was born in Florence, Italy, in 1888 to parents who were German subjects. During the Great War Kuhlmann would renounce his German given name and adopt his mother’s maiden name, Richardson. He would serve in the British Army during the conflict as well.
