Lot Essay

Edward Bawden (1903-1989) trained under Paul Nash and Edward Johnston and was initially employed by the Curwen Press designing posters for London Transport and wallpapers. This present bench was designed as part of a suite for the Bilston Iron Foundry in 1956.
