With blued replacement 27 in. (68.5 cm.) black powder only barrels, action with carved percussion fences and incorporating James Purdey's patent 1104 (2 May 1863), bolted back-action locks, profuse scroll engraving throughout, and well figured 14 ¾ in. pistolgrip stock, weight 6 lbs. 7 oz.
Provenance
The makers have kindly confirmed that this rifle was completed in .360 calibre on 23 January 1877 for Capt. M. Gerard.
