Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1958 and its subsequent sale on September 29th of the following year.

Reference 3417 was Patek Philippe's first anti-magnetic wristwatch produced in series and was made in stainless steel only. Launched in 1958 it was produced for two years using caliber 12'''400. As of 1960, the model was fitted with caliber 27-AM 400 until the end of production in the late 1960s. This particular watch was likely originally sold in France given the smudged "FAB. SUISSE" printing in the subsidiary seconds register.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.

For further details and illustrations of reference 3417 see Patek Philippe Steel Watches by John Goldberger, pp. 342-349, and the Patek Philippe ref. 3417 Amagnetic guide by "mstanga".
