A SMALL EIGHT-PANEL CARVED LACQUER FOLDING SCREEN, WEIPING
CHINA, QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
The screen is finely carved depicting an envoy on horseback with attendants traversing an expansive landscape shrouded in clouds, all picked out in blue, white, and red within a decorative outer border of chilong, and above shaped aprons decorated in red lacquer, the reverse with figures on a terrace in a further landscape.
