(The letter “s”of the author’s name lost on title with small repair, some wormtracks repaired near lower margin on several early leaves with some minor loss of letters, some pale dampstaining.) Late 18-century half speckled calf over paste boards, smooth spine with gilt panels, pale red lettering piece. Provenance: “Louglie” (signature on front free endpaper).
Rare Second(?) edition. First published in Rome (1628), this work includes accounts of Spinola's missionary work in Brazil and Spanish America. The present edition is not in Sabin, Alden & Landis, Streit or Backer. Sabin 89459 describes an edition published in Rome and Bologna by Clemente Ferroni in this year. Alden & Landis 629/139 describes the same edition, although only with Bologna in the imprint. Neither source contains a record of this Milan edition.
