A CARVED WOOD FIGURE OF A BODHISATTVA
SONG-YUAN DYNASTY (960-1368)
The deity is carved standing on a cloud base, her hair upswept into a topknot and worn beneath a crown. Her face is carved with downcast eyes and her robes are worn loosely draped about her shoulders and are open at her chest to reveal a necklace. A long celestial scarf is draped over her arms. Traces of red pigment remain.
