Lot Essay

An example from the 'Aquanaut' collection, the present example was produced 10 years after the first Aquanaut. Launched in 2007, the present model fits into the first year of this reference's production. Furthermore, to the best of our knowledge the present watch has never before been offered in public.

The 5165 has some updated some characteristics, in comparison to its brother the 5065. The strap is now named “bombé", the dial embossing, though textured, is slightly smoother and a slightly darker hue, the numerals are larger and now the '3' is no longer seen, the outer minute markers are smaller whereas the signature is a little larger. In addition, the deployant buckle slightly heavier and the crown is slightly changed. That being said, the case maker remains as well as the size.
