First edition of Speed’s work on Husbandry, including several chapters on forestry. Rare: according to ABPC, only 3 copies have sold at auction in the last 38 years, each lacking the final blank and half-title; according to online auction records, this is the first copy to appear on the market since 1937 with both the final blank and longitudinal half-title.

8vo (139 x 78 mm). Leaf with verses entitled “A Digression of the Usage of Divers Countries concerning the Tillage,” 3-page publisher's advertisements, blank leaf, final leaf with half-title printed longitudinally. (Paper flaw on G8 affecting a few letters.) Contemporary calf (upper portion of spine repaired, covers slightly bowed). Provenance: Lowther family (bookplate on pastedown).
