Second edition, of this "authoritative source book for British and American architects" (Archer).
Folio (465 x 303 mm.) 64 engraved plates (a few marginal tears and tiny chips, some light staining). Contemporary calf (rebacked in morocco, some wear). Provenance: Morant and Co. (bookplate). Archer 451.1.
Gibbs's work was an instant success, since it provided competent amateurs with a comprehensible method for copying Palladian orders. See Millard English 23 (first edition).
