Second Perrault edition. Brunet argues that the second edition with Perrault's scholarly commentary and translation is more complete than the first (1673) and is, therefore, to be preferred.
Folio (442 x 290 mm). Engraved additional title, 68 plates (8 double-page), head- and tail-pieces, diagrams in the text, initials (wide margin with tiny marginal worm hole turning into a short worm track at end). Contemporary calf, spine in seven compartments, gilt-lettered morocco label in one, others ruled and decorated in gilt (minor splitting to joints, a bit scuffed at the extremities). Fowler 418.
