Lot Essay

The Carrera 2447 S, is the first Heuer case with screw back construction. It is also the first model presenting silvered registers on a silvered dial. The present watch, known as 2447 Yachting, is essentially a standard 2447 S with the addition of three blue triangles on the minute register to assist the yachtsman with the 15 minute countdown to the start of a race (one of the features found on the A&F Seafarer and Heuer Mareograph). These Yachting Carrera’s are known to be very rare and to find one in such condition should delight any aficionados of rare vintage Heuer chronographs.
