Lot Essay

This third execution three-register Autavia chronograph so called “Jochen Rindt Autavia” was named after the legendary Formula One driver who was often photographed wearing a similar example in the 1960s. This is not to be confused with the highly popular Universal Genève "Nina Rindt" Compax, such as the previous lot, which became popular ever since Jochen’s wife was photographed wearing one.

The superb combination of the Valjoux 72 movement with the “inverse panda” dial made by Singer on a 38.5 mm case make this watch somewhat similar to 1960s Rolex Daytona models, and it is thus no surprise that these have risen significantly in value and interest over the past two years.

The present watch remains in splendid condition and offers any discerning collectors a rare opportunity to buy a stunning "Jochen Rindt Autavia".
