Lot Essay

Reference 2540 was in production between 1954 and 1960 and was Patek Philippe's first square wristwatch fitted with an automatic movement. The model was also available with movement calibre 12’’’600: ref. 2540 and calibre 12'''400: ref. 2540/1. According to our research, only approximately 13 pieces of reference 2450/2 in yellow gold have come back to the market until today. Among its rarity, the appealing condition of this watch will attract the attention of any erudite collector.
