PROPERTY FROM THE COLLECTION OF LU NANSHAN (LOTS 952-953) Lu Nanshan (1904-1988), was one of the four famous Shanghainese physicians since the 1930s. He was a Chinese paintings collector and was friends with famous artists in Shanghai, such as Tang Yun (1910-1993). Tang helped Lu purchase many paintings in the collection, including the Classical Landscape by Wang Yuanqi, the 16th-Century Rubbing and Landscape by Huang Binhong, and thence by descent. Tang Yun’s Peony and Bees and Landscape by Huang Binhong will be offered in the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings on May 30, 2017 (Lots 1366-1367).
