Lot Essay

According to her son Sean, Audrey had cherished this elegant Cartier powder compact, and the en suite lipstick holder (Lot 43) since the 1950s. Perhaps a gift from her first husband James Hanson, the compact accompanied her to ceremonies and soirées throughout the 50s and 60s.
