A MASSIVE GREY STONE HEAD OF BUDDHA
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The monumental head is carved with a serene expression, the downcast tear-shaped eyes half closed in mediation below a high-relief urna in the centre of the forehead, above the pursed lips and between long pendulous ear lobes, the hair in tight curls rising to a high usnisha.
