Lot Essay

This manuscript, produced in the nineteenth century, was a copy of the original text by Al-Buni. The colophon of the present work states that it was completed in Bandar Abbas, Oman. During the period of 1794-1868 AD, Bandar Abbas was under the control of Oman and Zanzibar, due to a lease agreement with Persia (Potter, 2008, pp.125-48).
