Lot Essay

The present ref. 16710 is a very well-preserved example of a 1990s Rolex GMT-Master II. The case impresses with full proportions, the original dial with luminous numerals in a light creamy tone, perfectly matching the hands.

Ref. 16710 is considered as the legitimate successor to the first GMT-Master II, ref. 16760, featuring the new caliber 3185 movement with identical functions to its predecessor, caliber 3085. It includes the functions of the independently advance or reverse of the hour-hand and an enabling of the instantaneous setting of the second time. Furthermore the new movement is distinguished by its slightly smaller design compared to the previous example.
