A LARGE FAMILLE VERTE, FAMILLE NOIRE AND GILT-DECORATED DISH
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The heavily potted dish is decorated with a central medallion containing a basket of flowers, enclosed by radiating bands of further foliage beneath a band of Buddhist-emblem panels and different diapers on the rim. The reverse is decorated with a thin band of flower-filled panels on a diaper ground and the base has an artemisia leaf within a double circle in underglaze blue.
20 1/8 in. (51.1 cm.) diam.
