Lot Essay

Between 1870 and 1920, Gervais-Maximilien-Eugène Durand (b. 1838) is recorded as having worked at 12 rue de la Cerisaie and 62 rue Saint-Antoine, the old hôtel de Sully. Specializing in the production of 18th century style furniture of the finest quality, the atelier was awarded a silver medal at the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle.
