A RARE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL TRIPOD 'DRAGON' CENSER AND COVER
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The censer is brightly enamelled with a central band of alternating pink and blue sinous dragons between bands of floral scrolls. The lobed base is enamelled with meandering lotus scrolls and is supported on three elephant-head feet. The reticulated cover is skillfully worked with a writhing dragon chasing the flaming pearl amongst vaporous clouds. The base is further decorated with a cracked ice design with scattered flower-heads.
