Exquisite "Take me Out to the Ball Game" Baseball Decorative Music Box c.1920s
Ornate silver-plated figural music box is composed of an oversized baseball shaped compartment atop a diamond shaped base with crossed bat decoration above an engraved "W". The lid to the baseball compartment lifts to reveal a windup music box, which plays "Take Me Out To The Ball Game." One of only a small population of surviving examples known, two of which were presented to baseball luminaries such as the Wrigley family of Chicago. The offered example is attributed to having been possibly owned by P.K. Wrigley. In outstanding original condition with little to no mentionable wear. Includes 2005 letter of provenance indicating possible attribution to P.K. Wrigley: EX/MT-NM
