Beautiful original 7 ¼" x 9 ¼" sepia tone image in matte finish picturing the two legendary dead ball era star players standing in full uniform. The photo is stamped "National Photo" on the reverse. Front has a vertical surface crease just to the right of Cobb's head area. At the time of its publishing in 1925 both Cobb and Johnson were the lone remaining members of their 1907 teams when they first met in battle. This particular image originated from the scrapbook of Walter Johnson within his personal collection. An important and impeccably sourced image arguably picturing the two greatest stars of the era. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA with "Johnson Collection" labeling and includes letter of provenance from the Johnson family: VG-EX
