This delicate portrait of an unknown woman was presumably executed in the first half of the 16th Century by a Florentine artist. The lady’s headdress, only faintly sketched, appears to be a turban or perhaps a balzo, fashionable in Italy in the 1530s.
The style of the composition recalls works by the Florentine painter Giuliano Bugiardini (1475-1577), such as his Portrait of a Young Woman at the National Gallery of Art in Washington (inv. 1939.1.31). Unfortunately, however, no drawings definitively attributed to Bugiardini are known.

Ce délicat portrait d'une femme inconnue a vraisemblablement été exécuté dans la première moitié du XVIe siècle par un artiste florentin. La coiffe de la dame, légèrement esquissée, semble être un turban ou peut-être un balzo, à la mode en Italie dans les années 1530.
Le style de la composition rappelle les oeuvres du peintre florentin Giuliano Bugiardini (1475-1577), comme son Portrait d'une jeune femme à la National Gallery of Art de Washington (inv. 1939.1.31). Malheureusement, on ne connaît pas de dessins définitivement attribués à Bugiardini.
