Guido’s commentary on Gratian’s Decretum, in a large contemporary binding. This is the fifth edition; ISTC records no other copies in the United States. HC 2718*; BMC V 312; BSB-Ink B-249; GW 3748; IGI 4557; Goff B-289; ISTC ib00289000.

Royal folio (407 x 268mm). 395 leaves (of 396, title text from first leaf cut out and mounted to new blank). Larger penwork initials in red and blue, smaller red and blue penwork initials, red capital strokes (dustsoiled and wormed at ends, occasional other stains). Contemporary Cologne blindstamped calf over wooden boards [Kyriss 96, EBDB w001443, Schrotplatten], brass cornerpieces and other hardware strap (rebound preserving much of original boards, lacking one strap and most of original hardware). Provenance: acquired from Maggs Brothers, London, 18 April 1957.
