Babe Ruth signature baseballs are by no means fairly described as "rare". Throughout Ruth's entire playing career and subsequent retirement he was always willing to sign for his fans with special focus on the thousands of young boys and girls who adored him. However, on rare occasions a particular baseball adorned with the Babe's autograph will meet a criteria of excellence that elevates it to a different category of rank. Very light cream color Harridge American League baseball appropriately signed across the sweet spot in black fountain pen by Ruth. The sweet spot of the ball provides an appropriate canvas for this artistic signature which by our evaluation rates 9 out of 10. PSA has asssigned a technical grade of 8 to the signature which we, respectfully, assign as conservative by any measure. The ball itself presents in unused condition with only a few areas of scattered minor surface wear listed for accuracy only. The remarkable condition of the ball and signature is assuredly due to its preservation within the original Reach cardboard packaging which is included with the lot. With possibly a singular exception which we offered over 20 years ago (now a world record holding example) the offered Ruth single signed baseball is the finest we have encountered.
